Journey to Haast

Arriving into Queenstown you will be met by me where we begin our adventure with a breathtaking drive over the Crown Range to Wanaka. After stocking up on supplies, we continue through the stunning Haast Pass to our destination.

Glaciers & Scenic Wonders

We travel north to Fox Glacier, stopping at Lake Matheson for lunch and a walk around its famous mirror-like reflections.

In the afternoon, we continue to Franz Josef Glacier. While the glaciers have receded and are viewed from a distance, this is a fantastic opportunity (weather permitting) to take a scenic flight for a closer look. Let me know if this is on your bucket list so arrangements can be made. We then continue to the peaceful coastal settlement of Okarito.

Note: No shops beyond Franz Josef, but laundry facilities available.

Hokitika Bound

We continue north to Hokitika, a vibrant coastal town known for its arts and natural beauty. 

Accommodation: Hokitika Kiwi Holiday Park (2 nights)

Coastal Drive to Westport

We continue further north to westport, stopping along the way at the iconic Pancake Rocks and Blowholes at Punakaiki.

Accommodation: Buller Bridge Motel (2 nights)

Hanmer Springs Escape

We journey inland via the scenic Lewis Pass to the alpine village of Hanmer Springs. Enjoy the charms of the village and perhaps unwind in the famous hot pools.

Sunday is a free day.

An optional highlight is the Molesworth Station Tour- a full day experience through New Zealand's largest high-country station [Cost $285pp].

Journey Home

Today we travel to Picton to catch the ferry to Wellington, marking the end of our incredible West Coast Adventure of the South Island.

River Safari & Coastal Charm

This morning we experience the Waiatoto River Safari, a unique jet boat journey into a remote and untouched river system. 

Afterwards, we head to Jackson Bay for lunch at the famous Craypot Cafe. The afternoon is yours to enjoy - perhaps a peaceful beach walk or even a refreshing swim if the weather is kind.

Lagoon Eco Experience

Today we enjoy a guided Okarito Lagoon Eco Boat Tour- a truly special experience exploring this pristine and wild-life rich environment.  A highlight of the trip!

The afternoon is free for you to relax or explore at your own pace.

Denniston Plateau Adventure

A day trip to the historic Denniston Mine offering fascinating insights and dramatic views from this once-thriving coal mining area. There are some really great books to read about this area before we arrive.

Marlborough Magic

We head to Blenheim, where we'll stay in a comfortable home at Omaka Landing. Jill our local guide we join us as we explore.
