Tuesday 21st April
Raglan Region
Today we will be traveling through to Hamilton then on to Raglan. We will be exploring the major events in the geological history of New Zealand as expressed in our local rocks and landscape.
Dr Megan Balks will be on board to lead us on a fun trip towards the West Coast, to better understand our local region and learn how our country and the local landscape evolved, from the Jurassic to the present day. Megan taught Earth Sciences at Waikato university for 30 years and today we are privileged to have her with us.

Tuesday 10th November
Rotorua Region
We will be delving into the makeup of Rotorua lakes & mountains with Dr Megan Balks who will be on board with us today. Come and enjoy a fascinating day out. Our day includes at least 7 stops, and we plan to stop at Taupo pumice for a picnic lunch. Click here for more details on each stop.

Thursday 20th August
Taupo Region
We will all meet up at Lake Te Koutu in Cambridge at 8:30am before we travel South.
During our tour today, we learn about the geology and the thermal activity in the Taupo area. Another interesting day, looking back at New Zealand thousands of years ago and how the countryside has changed.
We have 8 stops planned along the way, including the Wairakei Thermal Valley.
