Terms & Conditions

1. PAYMENT IN FULL:

 

DAY TRIPS: Payment must be made in full a week before your arrival date, if paying by credit card then a 3% service fee will apply to this payment. International customers please note that payment is only accepted by Visa or Mastercard currently.

MULTI-DAY TOURS: You will be required to pay a deposit or deposits when booking, Bike Hike Stay will advise you the amounts required.  All deposits are non-refundable for changes of mind or cancellation by you.  Some airfares, services or ticketed entries to booked tourist attractions and events from 3rd party suppliers, must be paid in full at the time of booking, these may also be non-refundable.  Full payment is required no later than 6 weeks prior to departure unless otherwise advised at the time of booking. If payment has not been made by the specific date advised by Bike Hike Stay, your bookings may be cancelled.

Payments may be made by direct deposit or cash. All deposits must be made at least 24 hours prior to final payment due date to allow time for cleared funds to appear in our Bank account. Please include your surname and booking number as a reference.​

2. RATES:  Stated rates may be subject to change without notice until payment of deposit and the subsequent confirmation with the provider. Bike Hike Stay contract a number of 3rd party providers and they may decide to change their rates at any time. In the case that a 3rd party provider changes their rates then we will pass that charge onto you.

3. INSURANCE: The client must provide their own travel insurance to cover their expenses in cases of unforeseen circumstances.  Travel insurance is also strongly recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel. Your insurance protection should include cover for cancellation, medical and repatriation expenses, personal injury and accident, death and loss of personal baggage and money and personal liability insurance.

4. CANCELLATION AND CHANGE FEES: Cancellation fees are likely to be incurred on all confirmed reservations or bookings. Further, some arrangements may be non-refundable or non-transferable.

If you wish to change a confirmed reservation, you are likely to incur fees. In some cases, it may not be possible to change reservations or to cancel the reservation or it may be uneconomic for you to do so. You should always check the cost before requesting changes in reservations.

​Cancelled bookings may also incur 3rd party supplier fees. Which can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Where we incur any liability for a supplier cancellation fee for any booking which you change or cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee.

In the event that a supplier cancels a service due to force majeure or for operational reasons and a full supplier refund can be obtained, Bike Hike Stay reserves the right to charge a reasonable service fee for time spent on the original booking and administration of the refund.​

5. REFUNDS:  Refunds are subject to the 3rd party suppliers T&C's.  We are unable to provide any applicable refund to you until we receive the paid funds back from the relevant supplier. Some supplier refunds may take up to 6 weeks to be paid. Any refunds will be returned to you in the same way as the original booking form of payment.

3. MODIFICATION – We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions from time to time.

Bike Hike Stay Products (tours and bike hire) Terms & Conditions

1. CLIENT LIABILITY – The Client agrees to accept all risks, and will not hold Bike Hike Stay, or any of their employees or agents responsible or make any claim against them (including claims arising from negligence) for any direct or indirect injury or damage to the Client or its property. The Client agrees that any claim in respect of any damage and/or injury to other persons and/or property is its responsibility and not the responsibility of Bike Hike Stay or their employees or agents and hereby indemnify Bike-Hike-Stay against any loss, damage or claim whatsoever arising against them. The client must provide their own travel insurance to cover their expenses in cases of unforeseen circumstances. The client must provide any medical details that may adversely affect their participation (e.g. asthma, pregnancy, chronic conditions) at the time of booking, so that we may discuss contingency planning with you.

2. NEW ZEALAND LAW – This hire agreement is governed in all respects by the laws of New Zealand and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand. Visitors to New Zealand must have full insurance due to limited ACC cover.

3. SAFETY – The Client accepts that cycling and associated activities have inherent risks, and can be dangerous. The Client understands that these risks include (but are not limited to): illness, navigational difficulties, rough riding conditions, poor weather, and collisions, all of which may occur in isolated areas. The Client accepts all responsibility and liability for ensuring their own safety. Bike-Hike-Stay reserve the right to withdraw any person who it believes is likely to be a danger to themselves or others.
